Michael Billings
Michael Billings graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May of 2006. Shortly after graduation Michael relocated to Des Moines, Iowa and accepted a position as Commercial Property Manager with Executive Real Estate Services. In this position Michael was responsible for overseeing the two million plus commercial square feet that the brokerage supervised. His duties included but were not limited to annual financial budgeting, facility/building maintenance, rent collection, construction coordination, and lease negotiation. The various job tasks associated with this position has given Michael vast experience in retail, office, industrial, warehouse, and flex commercial property as well as developmental and agricultural land.
In early 2009 Michael accepted a position as a Commercial Sales Associate with Iowa Realty Commercial. As a sales associate it will be Michael’s primary focus to provide his commercial clients with overall market knowledge and research in order to acquire or dispose of investment property, secure reliable tenants for their property, or locate available commercial space that would be suitable for a business that is starting up or on the move. Michael believes that this new position will allow him to expand his professional knowledge and build upon his already growing contact list. He one day aspires to gain his Broker’s License for the State of Iowa in order to operate and manage a commercial office.
In addition to being a licensed realtor Michael owns and manages his own personal residential income property. As a landlord it is his goal to provide a home for his tenants that is warm, appealing, efficiently maintained, and functional for their financial lifestyle. In doing this he feels that it will not only allow his tenants to obtain a higher standard of living but also fuel the production of his property by retaining his tenants as long as possible. His experience as a landlord provides him with invaluable insight into property owner and tenant issues which in turn allows him to provide his commercial clients with an overall better understanding of the sales and listing processes.
Michael is a firm believer in treating people as you would prefer to be treated. Each and every person that he meets he views as an opportunity to expand his knowledge and develop a relationship. It is his goal to provide the overall highest quality of commercial services by adopting a thorough and professional attitude and instilling this philosophy in to each and every transaction.
