Ed Urbanek

Ed has been involved in commercial Real Estate for nearly 25 years after starting his career in operations for a retail company. Those Real Estate responsibilities have required Ed to conduct business in approx. 40 states before returning to Iowa. Ed brings extensive site selection, research and negotiation by virtue of his experience for a variety of companies. Ed has worked primarily with retail companies and developers that utilize very small sites to the very large and is well versed in all phases of due diligence and the entitlement process. Some of his former associations & clients include companies such as Checker / Schuck’s & Kragen Auto Parts, ShopKo Stores, Gander Mountain, Q Lube, ExtendedStayAmerica Hotels, Ernst Home Centers, Kum & Go Stores, Pine Tree Commercial Realty and Sportsman’s Warehouse. Some of the types of deals Ed has successfully negotiated include ground leases, land purchases, build to suit leases, shopping center leases and sale leasebacks.
